A Flamazing June For The Birds!
| 7th July 2015
Yes, It’s been a flaming June for the Birds with more top guests on the show – including the one and only Sean Ryder from Happy Mondays and Black Grape. Sean chatted to the Birds about the massive Ricky Hatton event at the vast Victoria Warehouse. Caz said it was a fantastic night. She swanned around checking it all out while Ems did a blinding DJ set. Read all about it here at Viva lifestyle.
The award–winning singer Mica Paris was in town and took time out of her very busy schedule to chat to Caz all about her role as Sylvia in the UK tour of the Elvis musical, Love Me Tender, which opened in Manchester on June 5th. Caz was there, of course, to see this fantastic show which is set in a small town in nineteen-fifties America. A sexy, guitar-playing, hip-swivelling stranger – played by Ben Lewis (Love Never Dies) – rides his motorbike into town breathing life and music into the community and Ben sings most of The King’s hits extremely well. This is a must see for all Elvis lovers. Check out where you can catch it here.
Crazy John Robb – Director of Louder Than War and bass player/singer in the punk band Membranes – joined the Birds live in the studio to chat about the Membranes’ new album, Dark Matter/Dark Energy, which they launched at the Deaf Institute. check them out on Facebook.
Festival time in Manchester and Parklife was honoured to have Ems and her Twisted Twin, Neil Rambo, hotting things up over in VIP with some upbeat house tunes. Read all about it here.
Ems then flitted off to Ibiza for more blinding DJing on THE party island, leaving Caz flying solo at FAB Radio for a couple of weeks. Ems is getting sensational on those turntables.
While one Bird’s away the other Bird will play and Caz got up to all sorts; like being a T.V.. star for a night on ‘That’s Manchester,’ a brand new TV channel. www.thatsmanchester.co.uk
Watch this space and I’m sure you’ll agree Caz will probably be presenting her very own show on there quite soon. ?
The brand new Turtle Bay, on Oldham Street in Manchester, opened its doors with the most amazing launch party. Of course, Caz had to be there to sample their soul food menu including canapés of jerk-spiced pork, lime–marinated salmon and sweetcorn fritters. She also managed a few of their signature cocktails, caipirinhas and mojitos.
Oh, we nearly forgot to mention Caz’s Eighties night at The Mowbray Arms in Failsworth. which is a cracking night this month and every month. Yes, it’s not just Ems who is good at spinning tunes. Caz claims that she taught Ems everything she knows about DJing! ?
WOW, what a busy June for the Birds. Bring on July that’s what we say and we’ve heard that it’s all about the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival.
