A touch of Eastern glamour came to Manchester city centre this December as 180 guests gathered at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel for the MedEquip4Kids Annual Shimmer Ball, which this year featured a Bollywood theme.

After assembling in their stunning Bollywood costumes for pre-dinner drinks, guests were treated to a three course gourmet Indian banquet, while being kept entertained by the fabulous Bollywood dancers from Desi Nach.

Brian White, Chairman of MedEquip4Kids, welcomed the guests and outlined a few highlights in the charity’s 30 year history of improving children’s healthcare. He then presented an award to Ghazala Baig, Chief Executive, to mark her long service to the charity. Following the speech, guests danced the night away to the sound ofBhangra Fusion music.

An auction and raffle also took place, with fantastic prizes including a diamond ring, a luxury weekend in London, and tickets to see Manchester United play Manchester City. In total the ball raised over £50,000 for the charity, which will be used to fund medical equipment and facilities for hospitals to make sure every child has the best medical care.

MedEquip4Kids improves children’s health by funding equipment not available from limited NHS resources. We would like to thank everyone who attended and made the evening such a success, and in particular VINCI Construction, who generously sponsored the event.
