Walrus 5

On Thursday night, the MAD Ltd group opened the doors to a freshly refurbished and sophisticated, Walrus. Situated on High Street, one of the Northern Quarter’s favourite bars unveiled their new look to partygoers, celebs and Corrie stars; Catherine Tyldesley, Tina O’Brien and Bruno Langley.

Fire-eaters and light shows wowed guests outside, before they had even entered the stylish space, which has been made over with a mod back bar and luxury seating booths; all complemented by a copper and wood theme running throughout; not forgetting where the bar’s original inspiration came from- the Beatles’ 60s song ‘I Am The Walrus’.

Inside, African drummers, legendary DJ Gareth Brooks and a Beatles band set the atmosphere as VIP guests tucked into tasters from award winning, executive chef, Chris Byron’s redesigned menu. Already known for their excellent burgers, Walrus have centred their new menu on ten new varieties of pizza and plenty of new dishes, which are brilliant for sharing, to keep the relaxed feel the bar is known for. Furthermore, the extensive cocktail menu includes some twists on the old classics, including a Bohemian Mojito and To-Margarita.

Head down to Walrus and check it out for yourself. It’s something not to be missed!
