Forget yoga, body pump and pilates – they’re so last season! Barrecore is the class everyone’s talking about because it’s the one which promises to get you the summer body you’ve been tirelessly working on since New Year.

Barrecore is an intelligent exercise, as it aims to burn fat via interval training with static stretches after each major muscle is trained. Each 60-minute long class targets the major muscle groups and improves posture. Each session is something between personal training and a class, since each is limited to a max of 12 people.

Here are just some of the Barrecore benefits:

  • reduced body fat
  • strong, flat abdomen
  • lifted seat
  • strength and endurance
  • increase in energy and sense of well-being

Barrecore is recommended at least 3-4 times a week, stating that clients who exercised 4 times a week saw a difference just after 4-6 sessions.

The VIVA girls were invited down to Selfridges Exchange Square to try barrecore express class with barrecore specialist Sarah Emblow. What we thought was an easy half an hour of yoga turned into hard work, sweat and tears. We must say though that although it was one of the hardest exercises we have ever done, we felt incredibly relaxed and satisfied. We were also treated to a lovely goodie back from Sweaty Betty.

After the session we were escorted to Charlotte Tilbury  counter where we underwent a beauty make over from their talented make up artists Nafan Hynes and Shane Burke. After that, we were invited to wind down with a glass of delicious smoothie from the San Carlo cafe.

If you would like to give Barrecore a go, then you can book yourself in for next Wednesday 10th of June between 12 and 6pm. Tickets are £10 each and include 1:1 or 1:2 barrecore session, a Charlotte Tilbury make over and a smoothie from San Carlo.
