The best ways to ease your travel stress!

Planning for your holiday can sometimes be enough to put you off. The stress of packing, getting to the airport and trying not to miss your flight is a lot to worry about! To help out, we have some easy tips that can help you avoid the stress and enjoy your holiday.

Pre-order transport

Although you can park in airports such as Manchester for long periods of time, leaving your car unattended is not something everyone feels 100% comfortable with. If this is you, then why not minimise your stress and simply book your airport transfer ahead of time. Cyllenius airport transfers Manchester is a great taxi company that get you from A to B with no hassle and no “where did we leave the car” moments. Booking a taxi transfer to the airport also allows you to enjoy your holiday more, without worrying about the safety of your car and you have to stress about parking fees if your flight is delayed.

Pack savvy

Keep up to date with the latest weather forecast in the country you are visiting. This way you will be able to pack accordingly, avoiding those extra baggage weight charges at the airport. If you are a heavy packer, try rolling up your clothes rather than folding them, as this way you will fit a lot more in. One of the more obvious ones too is to wear your most bulky items to the airport. Again, this will save you space and any unexpected weight access fees.

Don’t wear metal

Manchester airport especially is known for its horrible security queues. So be considerate and don’t wear any metals that could set off the detector. Also, check and double check your bags for any banned items, as you never know what may have been forgotten about in your pocket. Ideally, you should bag up all your liquids in a clear plastic bag beforehand and make sure it is within easy access so you aren’t holding up the queue. Finally, group all your electronics together and give the bag to someone in your group. This way the rest of you can simply walk straight through.

Take some British currency too

You don’t want to end up spending half your currency in the airport, so make sure you save aside a few pounds to buy lunch and drinks with. If you have time, buy yourself on-flight snacks whilst in the airport as this will save you money and you won’t have to wait for the aircrew to start lunch. Also, remember duty-free isn’t that much cheaper, so try resisting until after your holiday as you may find something similar abroad for half the price!

Remember to layer up

Even though you may be visiting a hot country, the on flight air con can be super cold. To avoid the strong blasts of icy air, wrap up warm, wearing multiple layers. If you have space you should also bring a fold up shopping bag with you. This way when you arrive at your destination you can de-layer and put your clothes in your extra bag. Doing this will ensure you won’t be penalised for too many hand luggage bags and you will also stay toasty warm whilst on your flight.
