Capital FM Talks Manchester’s Music Scene

Rob Ellis | 21st May 2015

As Summer arrives in Manchester, so do a host of international mega-stars. The likes of Olly Murs, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, The Vamps and 5 Seconds of Summer to name but a few and of course, we’ve been getting you into all of these gigs since we kicked off with Access All April – an entire month of ticket giveaways.

On the 6th and 7th of June, Parklife takes over Heaton Park for an amazing weekend of live music. We’ve been giving away weekend passes and we’ll also be backstage for the whole weekend; bringing you all the gossip and goings-on as they happen. Parklife is always a huge weekend as the best live artists arrive with the summer sun. Artists like Disclosure, Rudimental, George Ezra, Mark Ronson, Fuse ODG and loads of others in a stacked line-up.

We put on the biggest event of December at the O2 in London – The Jingle Bell Ball – and there is some very exciting news about our Summertime Ball coming very soon. Over the past few years, Capital has taken over Wembley Stadium, bringing the biggest pop stars on the planet on to the same stage. Last year alone, we brought you the likes of; Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Cheryl Cole, Pharrell, David Guetta, Miley Cyrus, in fact a list too long for this column to tell you just how good this day was. We’ll have all the info on tickets, line-up, venues and dates for what will be, without doubt, one of the fast established gigs of the year.

June will also mark the return of another epic Manchester voice – Rachel will be back. Rob and Wingman have been left alone for far too long now. So now Rachel and fiancé Chris have welcomed baby boy Charlie, it’s the boys in the studio that need her back. We can’t wait to have her back on the airwaves and waking up Greater Manchester, everyday from 6am.
