Dazzling offers for Sparkle Weekend

SAM | 5th July 2018

One of Manchester’s newest restaurants is serving up a series of dazzling offers and live entertainment to celebrate the return of Sparkle Weekend, which takes place this Saturday and Sunday (7th and 8th July).

Mr White’s English Chophouse, which opened its doors last month and is Marco Pierre White’s second city centre venture, will be pulling out all the stops to mark the spectacular annual event which is a national celebration of the trans/non-binary community.

Now in its fourteenth year, Sparkle Weekend will see thousands of people descend upon Sackvillle Gardens for two days of free festivities, in what organisers claim is the largest free transgender event in the world.

And with the sun set to shine all weekend, the team at Mr White’s English Chophouse are rolling out the following sizzling offers, including two for one cocktails, two course lunch menus from £13 and two course dinner menus from £20. Diners will also be able to enjoy al fresco dining along the canal from 12pm on both days*.

There will be live entertainment in the bar with DJ Jason Jeffrey kick-starting the festivities early on Friday evening, where guests can indulge in some fizz with bottles of prosecco on offer for £20. Saturday will feature sets from DJ Sandro and DJ E.M.A will headline on Sunday evening.

The restaurant and bar will also be participating in the Sparkle Weekend Treasure Hunt. As part of the competition, guests attending the glamorous two-day event will have to collect stamps from each participating venue, to be in for a chance of winning from a selection of spectacular prizes including a meet and greet with the weekend’s headline acts.

Kim Eivind Krohn, owner of KRO Hospitality, the proprietor of the renowned Velvet Hotel and bar – where Mr White’s English Chophouse is located, said: “The Velvet Hotel has played an active role in supporting Sparkle weekend for many years and we wanted to make the celebrations for 2018 even more special as we welcome our new restaurant- Mr White’s English Chophouse.

“The sun will be cracking the flags again this weekend and our team have been hard at work putting together a fabulous line up of offers and live entertainment for everyone to enjoy and we are confident it will make this year’s Sparkle Weekend the best one yet.”

Sparkle Weekend takes place this Saturday and Sunday at Manchester’s Sackville Gardens. Gates open at 12pm and admission is free. There is live music over both days, with DJ sets until 8.30pm.

This year will also see the return of the market stalls and there is a fantastic list of vendors and organisations coming to the park.
