Debbie Manley | 22nd March 2018

A new cookery school that will mix a blend of workshops, supper clubs and masterclasses with a studio and event space, has opened its doors in Cheadle Hulme.

At The Kitchen is offers classes in cooking Pies and Tarts on Wednesday 29 March; an Easter Sunday Menu on Saturday 31 March; Fish on Tuesday 3 April; Basic Pasta on Thursday 5 April; Spring Baking Afternoon Tea on Saturday 7 April; Kids Cooking on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 April, Basic Sauces on Saturday 14 April and Healthy Simple Suppers on Tuesday 17 April.

The venue is the perfect backdrop for cook, writer and food stylist Angela Boggiano, who has moved up from London to share her passion for creating and enjoying fabulous food.

Angela’s 25 years of experience represents a career that’s seen her work as a writer and editor for some of the UK’s top food and lifestyle publications including BBC Good Food, Olive, Sainsburys and Waitrose Magazine.

She also spent a number of years as food editor on Delicious Magazine and is the author of several cookery books, including the award nominated ‘Pie’.

And as a food stylist her TV credits include working with stellar chefs such as Nigella Lawson, Giorgio Locatelli, Ainsley Harriet and Valentina Harris. At The Kitchen is the culmination of Angela’s wealth of knowledge and insight; a unique space for her to bring her food philosophy and knowledge to a wider audience.

Angela said: “I’m from an Italian background and I think that’s why, for me, life revolves around good food! It’s always been my dream to be able to share my cooking knowledge with people of all experience levels in a way that really gets across the fun and sheer joy of cooking, and this is the approach we’ve brought to At The Kitchen.

“The space looks incredible, and is completely versatile so people can join me in the kitchen for a cookery class or sit back and relax and enjoy a private dinning experience.

“As a region, we have lots to be proud of with fantastic producers, lots of diversity and incredible expertise, so we’ll also be inviting guest professionals to run an array of different masterclass sessions, meaning there will always be something new to discover!”

Workshops

At The Kitchen workshops have been designed by Angela to help people of all experience levels to develop the way they approach cooking, as well as being packed with foodie fun!

To ensure a relaxed atmosphere, group sizes are kept to a maximum of 12 people with plenty of time built into the class for questions and interactions.

Each session is rounded off with the chance to enjoy your dish over a drink and a chat with the rest of the group, a perfect toast to your culinary journey. Workshops will run on different days throughout the week, with prices starting from £60 for adult classes.

The inspirational stage for all these cooking experiences is a light and modern open plan space with cooking stations that feature appliances from innovative designers Fisher and Paykel.

At The Kitchen can also be hired for photography sessions and private events.
