“I couldn’t just sit at home doing nothing, I have to have a job” Pixie Lott on future plans and her new single

Paige Tucker | 6th October 2017

Last night the amazingly talented Pixie Lott came to Mahiki bar in Manchester to perform her new single ‘Won’t Forget You’ and she completely nailed it! The single, which was released last Friday, is quickly climbing the charts and it could be my favourite Pixie Lott song to date.

Pixie blessed us by singing both a slowed-down acoustic version of ‘Won’t Forget You’, which was so beautiful and she performed live with Stylo G himself!

We caught up with Pixie before she went on the stage to perform and asked her what the new single was all about. Pixie said the song connected with her as one of her close friends was going through a break-up after a long-term relationship and had thought that she had wasted all those years, but Pixie disagreed saying: “It wasn’t a waste of time because you have made all these amazing memories.”

Pixie then decided to take the song and make it her own, as she says: “It’s about all the ups and downs and the amazing memories and good times”, “the song is like ending on a positive note because it’s saying I won’t forget you now that it’s over.” So, this single has a very positive and uplifting message to it, as Pixie said: “I think everyone can relate to it” especially those who have experienced something similar.

There will be other singles to follow ‘Won’t Forget You’ so Pixie fans can expect more music to come soon and possibly even an album! In regards to the music video for her new single, you can expect to see this on Tuesday 10th, so keep your eyes peeled, I know we will be!

Also, for those of you waiting to hear some wedding bells, we could be hearing them sometime next year! Pixie, who is engaged to long-term boyfriend Oliver Cheshire said:”I haven’t actually sat down and gone ok, let’s do our research on this.” She continued: “we’re so busy with so much stuff but we will get around to it, we say July and September next year.”

But, we can expect the tiny pitter patter of baby Pixie’s in the future as she is definitely planning on having kids at some point- which we are so excited for! But will Pixie be stopping her music anytime soon? Definitely not! As she says: ” I think singing, music and entertainment I would just never be able to give up”, “It’s in my bones and I think it will be forever.”

It is probably a good thing that our beloved Pixie is sticking to music as when asked which other jobs she would do if she wasn’t in the entertainment business her response was: “Maybe a watermelon carrier”…an interesting choice there Pixie!

You can buy Pixie’s new single for only 99p on Amazon or Apple music, or you can listen for free on Spotify
