KERRI WATT2

On Friday 10th July, one of the UK’s brightest new stars, Kerri Watt returns with her beautiful new single ‘Long Way Home’ out on 25 Hour Convenience Records.

With her sights set firmly on breaking into the UK mainstream, ‘Long Way Home’ shines with a seriousness we’ve yet to see from the 22-year old singer. Produced by Richard McNamara from Embrace, ‘Long Way Home’ is piano driven, armed with a powerful hook, the vocals are clearer and the production bigger than ever before – it’s clear Kerri is on the path to something big.

‘It’s probably the most honest and vulnerable song I’ve ever written’ says Kerri. ‘I wrote it while I was wrapped up in a moment of confusion and emotion. I felt it was the right time to come out with something a bit more serious that really allows me to express my feelings in the vocals. I’m excited for people to hear another side of me.’

At only 22 and less than a year since her acclaimed debut single, ‘Who’s Lovin’ Me Now,’ Glasgow born Kerri has had the busiest six months of her life. Kicking off with a tour with a fellow Scot Nina Nesbitt, she nabbed further supports for Ward Thomas and Mike & The Mechanics, before being invited on her biggest support yet – 27 dates with The Overtones, which sees Kerri playing at venues like Dublin Olympia, Brighton Dome, Birmingham Symphony Hall and the London Palladium

This new single follows two EPs, the aforementioned ‘ Who’s Lovin’ Me Now’ and the recent ‘You,’ out in April this year, both finding support with Radio 2 and press coverage everywhere from The Sun, Daily Record, Digital Spy, New Magazine, and Shout to Record of the Day, Glasgow Evening Times and STV.

Catch her this summer as she performs Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Isle of Wight Festival and Boardmasters, plus stay tuned for news on other big tours later this year. ‘Long Way Home’ is out July 10th.
