Your Last Chance to Experience 5D VR… but you can Still Hire for £1000

The UK’s first example of a five-dimensional virtual reality (5D VR) experience has been hidden in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter over the last month, with today being the last chance to experience it.

But fear not, you can still hire Chaos Theory for private functions, with prices starting at just £1000.

Chaos Theory, located in Bar 21, Thomas Street, for the duration of March, saw people of Manchester  experience the world of virtual reality with the addition of realistic movements to assist the visuals.

“This the first 5D VR simulator of its kind in the UK and the majority of Europe. We have brought it down to the northern quarter here just to show off Manchester.”

Founders of Chaos Theory James Moss and Nathan Vidal say the experience is the first of its kind, and this is “just the beginning, this is going to be huge”.

James, 31, said: “This is the very beginning of our conquest. The idea behind bringing it to Bar21 was really just to see what the reactions would be and it has been huge. The reaction videos we’ve got are phenomenal”

Nathan, 30, added: “We’ve had people who had had to flip the headset off their heads, because it’s that real”.

“We’ve had people scared, crying, a full range of emotions. When the headphones go in, the goggles go on, this world becomes a myth, the bar doesn’t exist. When you’re strapped in you feel the movement and your gone.”

Chaos Theory combines the technology of virtual reality, with the addition of hydraulic machinery to create the realistic world of ‘5D VR’.

The movements from the machine in addition to what the player sees and hears through VR goggles and headset allows the player to experience realistic events in the comfort of a bar in the NQ.

Describing the experience of one of the gaming options for Chaos Theory, James says: “If you’re about to drop on a rollercoaster, you stomach feels it, it’s a really distinctive feeling and the machine does exactly that, and that’s what blows me away.  It’s a very specific feeling that you don’t think about and its right there, your body is driven to it”.

As the recent emergence of VR technology continues to dominate the world of electronics, the Chaos Theory founders say that the machine holds the potential for the next stage of gaming.

James explained: “Our big dream is to make sure that virtual reality is a big social event. We want to get more of these machines and get them interconnecting and you’ll be together in a virtual world. You can have competitions; you can have leagues. It’s only going to grow from here, it’s a very exciting time.”
