UK artist Lincoln Townley is exhibiting three paintings from his new W1 Collection at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Manchester, Piccadilly.

Craig Campbell, General Manager of the DoubleTree, commented: “We have had Lincoln’s paintings here for over a year and the response from guests has been phenomenal. He’s one of the country’s leading contemporary artists and we’re delighted he’s agreed to exhibit three paintings from his new collection at the hotel.”

Townley’s rise has been meteoric and has attracted a raft of wealthy investors. Hollywood actor Tamer Hassan a collector of Townley’s work has already bought a painting from the W1 Collection and said: “I buy art as an investment and I bought my first Townley painting over a year ago. I had it valued recently and was told it had more than doubled in value and I am considering buying at least one of the pieces on display at DoubleTree.

Townley said: “I’m glad collectors of my work feel they’re getting value for money but what drives me is a compulsion to paint. It keeps me sane, it keeps me sober and it’s the only way I can express what’s inside me. The W1 Collection looks at the dark underbelly of central London, which few people see but I know only too well how dark and demonic it can be.”

The W1 Collection will be on display at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Manchester from 12th August until 12th October. The collection will then be shown at The Royal Academy in London on the 22nd October.
