Love Island stars Kady McDermott and Scott Thomas got fruity when they helped to officially launch the new Botanist in Didsbury.
Planting its roots in a former JD Weatherspoons pub (The Milson Rhodes on School Lane), the Botanist threw open its doors to the movers and shakers of Manchester with a range of fruity drinks.
The 45 botanical creations on the cocktail menu included ‘Cinnamon and Oregano Old Fashioned’ and the ‘Apricot and Mint Daiquiri’.
This is the 13th addition to The Botanist chain, that includes branches in Alderley Edge, Knutsford and Manchester’s Deansgate.
We loved the refreshing watermelon cocktails and the botanical equipment hanging from the walls. Rakes, forks, pots and pans. There are also two corner balconies with plants covering the walls – a major watering job for someone.
Live acoustic acts will be playing music every night at the piano, near a huge fireplace. Even if you are sat upstairs you can look down on what’s happening below and watch your food prepared at the open kitchen.
The deli, rotisserie and BBQ dishes emerging from there at the launch party did not stay on the trays for long.
General Manager Danny Leach said: “It’s been fantastic opening in Didsbury, everyone has made us feel so welcome and we are looking forward to our future here!!”
