A massive Harry Potter convention is coming to Manchester in July
| 22nd February 2018
THE POTTER Fan Convention will be happening at Printworks in the city centre this July.
DiagCon will bring together fans from all over the UK on July 21 and 22 to celebrate J K Rowling’s wizarding world.
According to DiagCon’s website, fans will get to meet actors from the Harry Potter films, there’s going to be a Diagon-themed Market Street with traders, autograph and photograph sessions, Q&A panels from cast and crew of the films, props and mini exhibition and of course special food and drinks offers in many venues, which will be announced later this year.
Tickets are currently sold out but you can join the mailing list here for more updates.
Harry Potter fans were pleased earlier this month with the Harry Potter Book Day at the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery.
More than 600 people attended the event on Sunday 11th February.
The art gallery was transformed into a haven of Hogwarts where the fans could learn how to decorate dragon’s eggs, cast spells, make magic potions and do tricks from all Harry Potter books.
Each gallery area was assigned it’s own house: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.
The fans and children dressed up on the day, truly looking like from the Harry Potter film.
The owners of HOOT, the Harry Potter memorabilia shop in Stockport, also brought along a Niffler and other magical beasts.
This was the first year of this magical event and it had already seen a great success.

Councillor David Sedgwick, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Reform and Governance, said: “The Harry Potter Book Day was a success – well done to everyone involved in organising this event!
“I’m delighted that Harry Potter fans got to enjoy a full day of magical activities and celebration of this great British fantasy novel.”
