In a first for the city of Manchester, Manchester City and the National Football Museum are pleased to announce their exclusive tour offering the Ultimate Football Day Out. A unique tour that gives sports fans the opportunity to experience both Manchester City’s iconic home ground, the Etihad Stadium, and the home of 150 years of football history, the National Football Museum.

The experience, which caters to locals and visitors alike, encompasses a 90-minute, behind-the-scenes, guided tour of the Etihad Stadium and a visit to the National Football Museum, where all guests receive a £5.00 package to experience the Football Plus+ Penalty Shootout, trophy photos and more.

Designed for those looking to enjoy an action packed day of fun, the Ultimate Football Day Out is an opportunity for the young and the young at heart to immerse themselves in all aspects of Manchester’s rich football heritage, making it the ideal day out for families and football-lovers the world over.

The Stevenage Walking Football Club recently paid a visit to Manchester where they embarked on the all-new Ultimate Football Day Out experience. Following their tour, coordinator Jonathan Sinfield commented:

The Ultimate Football Day Out proved a huge success with both players and their accompanying coaches. The tour guides were enthusiastic and very knowledgeable and the Boys enjoyed the various competitive games and skill challenges on offer in the Football Plus+ Zone at the National Football Museum. On more than one occasion the line I could spend all day here was overheard. Overall, a fantastic day out in Manchester.

Commenting on the new tour package, Danny Wilson, Operations Director, Manchester City Football Club, said:

The Manchester City Stadium and Club Tour is an exciting, behind-the-scenes look at what happens on a match day at the Etihad Stadium. We continuously look for ways to enhance the tour so there is always something new to look forward to.

We have just renovated our exhibition space to provide supporters with a more in-depth look at the Club’s past, present and future and teaming up with the National Football Museum, who house an extensive collection of football artefacts, is the perfect opportunity to provide visitors with an even greater insight into the history of football in Manchester and beyond.

Kevin Haygarth, National Football Museum General Manager, speaking of the new offer, said:

It’s great that the National Football Museum and Manchester City Football Club have come together to offer visitors to the city a fantastic footballing day out; combining the very best in stadium tours and the history of the beautiful game in one unique package.

Special tours for groups of 15 or more can also be booked by contacting the Club and include an exclusive guided tour of the National Football Museum.
