Noel Gallagher flies high at the Manchester Arena 4th May

Having seen his brother at the same venue a bit before the new year it is apparent how different the two of them are at the moment with Noel seemingly intent on circumnavigating himself around and away from the Oasis legacy that made them so popular across the world.

The fans were there in their droves to see hopefully a sprinkling of Oasis magic which eventually came but the crowd needed to be patient. Now, change is inevitable and it is important to embrace it and not look back and no more so than with music and bands. Bowie for one was continually reimagining himself and his music with great success. Noel Gallagher’s latest album ‘Who Built The Moon’ is quite a departure from anything before and many of the tracks were covered at the Manchester Arena on friday night before any mention of a n other band’s riffs were heard. Quite honestly it was good with some tunes outstanding, ‘keep on shining’, ‘keep on reaching’ and it’s a beautiful world’ were stand outs.

I’m not sure if engaging with your fans is a ‘thing’ anymore as it took a long time it seemed for NG to acknowledge Manchester Arena, but when he did the crowd responded like disciples waiting for a sign from their Guru.

All in all the atmosphere was great, a great night with a good band, good music, good lighting, good sound and a wonderful crowd.
