Oktoberfest at Bierkeller

Traditional German brewery Warsteiner is teaming up with the Bierkeller Bavarian bar to bring the most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations to Manchester

Warsteiner has been making premium pilsners and dark ales for more than two centuries and is one of the largest family-run breweries in Germany, and this year it is partnering with Bierkeller to make its Oktoberfest beer festival the best one yet. The bar, inside the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex in The Printworks, will be filling up the giant steins and grabbing its lederhosen for two weeks of festivities from September 16 to October 1.

Bierkeller knows how to put on a stomping Bavarian night, complete with waitresses in traditional dress to keep the beer flowing and live music from the resident oompah band to make sure the party always goes with an energetic swing every weekend. So it pulls out all the stops to create an unrivalled atmosphere for Oktoberfest which is not only the biggest date in the German festival calendar, it’s one of the liveliest and most fun here too.

Bierkeller is expecting a crowd of around 2,000 every night over the course of the festival, when dancing on the wooden benches and tables isn’t just allowed, it’s essential! The bar will be getting all dressed up for the occasion and it’s serving some special Oktoberfest drinks deals to help customers raise a glass to celebrate.

Bottles of Warsteiner will be just £2 (Mon-Sun), with traditional steins of beer at £4 (Sun-Thurs) and pints at £2 (Sun-Thurs).

Hannah Smithies, general manager of Bierkeller in Manchester, says Oktoberfest is always one of the best events of the year:

“Our team are experts at getting that authentic Bavarian atmosphere just right – we do it every weekend. But Oktoberfest is something special so we do our homework on the celebrations in Germany, experience them for ourselves and then bring back everything that makes it so fantastic for our customers to enjoy.

“This year we’re really pleased to have joined up with Warsteiner who brew excellent beers, and we’ve come up with some great drinks deals because we just want as many people as possible to get involved and have a ball.”
