Pizza and cocktails: Escape from the city for the ultimate Valentine’s Day treat

The Lost & Found Knutsford

The Lost & Found is a Victorian hideaway nestled at the heart of Knutsford, it’s a short drive away from central Manchester – but the quirky town is more than worth the journey.

They are known for their cocktails; infused spirits are mixed, muddled and beautifully served creating craft cocktails from the city’s most creative mixologists.

From sweet to dry, and strong to light, guests can navigate the taste map to find their favourite. The vast cocktail menu is all unique – you won’t find better in the North!

Some cocktails include the Santiago Swizzle (£8.50) or the Florida Holly (£7.95), with quirky ingredients such as Pink Pepper infused Tanqueray Gin and Damson plum jam.

VIVA took a trip to The Lost & Found to see if it’s really the perfect place to bring your loved one this Valentine’s Day.

The building itself makes the trip special, it’s exterior is genuinely stunning. Almost church like, with lights shining up the arch ways. It’s a very inviting building and unlike anything you would find in the city centre.

The menu offers dishes that will tantalize your taste buds and leave anyone’s belly feeling happy. No pretentious offerings – which is surprising given the chic décor and upmarket vibe. I opted for a Salami, Pepperoni, Chorizo and Mozzarella Pizza (£12.00). The base felt artisan and not too stodgy, although it is a simple pizza it hit the spot and left me feeling content. My friend went for the Wagyu Beef Burger, with caramelized onions, crispy bacon, Monterey jack cheese and more (£13.00). My stomach is rumbling just thinking about it!

The menu is bound to include something for everyone – and you can see the chefs getting to work on your dish which is nice. Other dishes available include Chipotle & Quinoa Chill (vegan) or 18oz bone-in ribeye steak for the meat lovers. Check the menu out here.

The cocktail menu is brimming with eccentric options; the quirky ingredients make it difficult to decide!  Most cocktail bars have a small selection – but The Lost & Found have seriously raised the bar. They have put their own twists on the classics, along with plenty of their own creations too. It’s super impressive and great value for money. The average cocktail is around £8.00, when given the high-end ingredients and beautiful presentation – is more than fair. There are also alcohol-free cocktails, for those driving or detoxing. Overall a trip to this restaurant is a memorable experience, the quaint village oozes romance and it’s the perfect place to relax in chic surroundings this Valentine’s Day.
