Ply’s Doodle Wall Gets Festive With Manchester’s Studio Printmysoul

Abbi Minchin | 3rd December 2015

printmysoulFrom Thursday 3rd December, PLY officially launches its most festive Doodle Wall to date with Manchester’s very own Studio Printmysoul.

With masses of inspiration drawn from street art, origami and (yes) sailing, Studio Printmysoul is illustrating on the walls and decking the halls with 3d paper decorations created using meticulous geometric folding techniques.

A team of Christmas helpers, in the form of some talented students from Manchester School of Art, has been enlisted to support Studio Printmysoul in its doodling quest to ensure that the piece is perfect in time for the festivities.

Guests are invited to contribute to the seasonal joy, using signature Studio Printmysoul festive origami starter packs that can be used to add to PLY’s festive feeling or taken home to pop on their very own Christmas trees.

Local artists have been showing off their creative skills on the 4 x 3.5 metre wall installation, which is positioned prominently next to the bar every eight weeks since PLY said its hellos on Stevenson Square in April. The Doodle Wall is a long-term initiative delivered in partnership with Absolut, PLY’s arts partner.

Beki Rymsza, Marketing Manager at PLY comments “We have had some amazing local illustrators make their mark on the Doodle wall but Studio Printmysoul is doing something that we have never seen before…it’s perfect for the festive season!”
