REVIEW: Around The World Bar – The Printworks

Manchester has a hidden gem, a bar within a bar – located inside The Printworks, the Bierkeller Complex is also home to Around The World Bar, and this is definitely one to check out in the new year…Or on New Years!

If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, cocktails that don’t break the bank or a beer or two (or 100) then Around The World Bar in The Printworks has got your covered! Home to over 100 different beers from 33 countries all around the world, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

VIVA were invited down last week to sample the menu and we’re very happy to report back that we had a wonderful evening, the service was great, all of the staff were extremely helpful and offered recommendations – the food came out very quickly and was lovely pub grub style food, a great way to start an evening out on the drink in The Printworks.

We finished eating at about 8PM and by that point the bar was probably twice as busy as when we arrived, turning from more of a chilled lounge vibe in the afternoon into more of a party scene in the evening which was great. There was a live music act on performing hit indie songs which was right up our street and we had such a laugh singing along to.

If, like myself cocktails are your thing then look no further –  you can choose from House Cocktails, Premium Cocktails and JamJar Cocktails, something for everyones taste.

VIVA’s favourites:

The Singapore Sling – a South-East Asian cocktail. This long drink was developed sometime before 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, a Hainanese bartender working at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel in Singapore. The Singapore Sling was initially known as a Gin Sling, which is originally an American drink adapted with this Asian recipe.

Amaretto Sour – A variant of the classic sour, this version is a much smoother and sweet tasting sour and an easier drinker to someone looking for a sour that is less complex and bitter.

At Around The World Bar you don’t have to worry about what you’re wearing, the drinks are cheap, the food is good and it has a great atmosphere.
