Urban Outfitters UK’s Eastpak Event

Urban Outfitters and Eastpak event: “Big up the Urban Outfitters and the Eastpak mandem” as Novelist stated. On Thursday 26th October, Urban Outfitters hosted a live event sponsored by Eastpak with Novelist Grime mc from London performing live.
It would be an understatement to say the event was a success as Urban Outfitters transformed their store into a place where people could express themselves without paying a price. The purpose of the event was for Eastpak, the American brand of bags, backpacks and accessories to promote their new cross-body spring bag.

The performance from Novelist had Manchester lit up with how much energy the room let off ! With special guest appearance from DJ/ host DamnShaq adding to the spectacular night. Novelist grime artist from London who has appeared on Skepta’s hit album Konnichiwa with the song “Lyrics” and has also appeared on 1Xtra several times as well as been nominated for a MOBO award in 2014 for best grime act.
The event kicked off with drinks provided by Pabst Blue Ribbon and fans were able to have personal moments with the artist Novelist by getting photo opportunities, receiving autographs and a chance to ask him anything making the event feel more personal and exclusive. After a one hour set from London DJ DamnShaq Novelist took to the stage with security close by, ensuring everyone was safe as the crowds started to grow and the doors had to be closed.

As the time approached 9pm the DJ did one last set filling the room with 90s R&B with the talented crowd putting on their own show with a dance battle. The store also gave fans another chance to get their time with Novelist as he did a formal poster signing at the back of the store.
To conclude the event was particularly memorable and has put Urban Outfitters on the map but I would also say that I thought the event needed more posters and promotions of the brand Eastpak so people knew just what the event was all about.
