This is the Rhythm of the 90s… and it’s coming to Manchester this May

Harry Cannell | 28th April 2018

Rhythm of the 90s are a dance band with a difference, and they’re coming to Manchester on Saturday 5 May to give you the best night out this side of the millennium.

Ah, the 1990s. A time when Donald Trump was just a businessman, a pint cost less than £2, and Starbursts were still called Opal Fruits. And then there was the music: we had Britpop, we had Girl Power, we had Mr Blobby. But the ‘90s will be fondly remembered by many as the decade that dance music exploded.

Rhythm of the 90s is a joyous celebration of the club classics that defined an era. The seven-piece are more than just a covers band. Not only do they look the part (think bucket hats and round orange sunglasses) but they completely sound the part, playing the decade’s biggest dance anthems 100% live in all their ‘90s glory.

Since their inception in 2012, Rhythm of the 90s have toured the country, bringing big beats and catchy tunes to the masses. They’ve performed at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Latitude festivals, and now they’re bringing their No Limits tour to Manchester Club Academy to take us all back to a time when groove was in the heart and rhythm was a dancer.

The sheer beauty of this onstage spectacular is its intergenerational appeal. Whether your Saturday nights back in the ‘90s were spent havin’ it large with a Hooch in your hand, sitting at home watching Noel’s House Party, or neither of the above because you weren’t even born – this one is guaranteed to be nothing short of mega.

So what are you waiting for? Dust off that shell suit and head down to Manchester Club Academy on Saturday 5 May for the ultimate nostalgia-fest.
