Rugby World Cup – Aus v Eng at Shooters Sports Bar

Two of sports fiercest rivals go head to head in the Rugby World Cup on Saturday when Australia and England clash in the final in Brisbane

And rugby fans back home don’t have to miss out on all the excitement and tension of the match because sports bar Shooters will be screening the game live on its big screen. Supporters should set their alarms because the bar, inside the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex, will be making an early start for a 9am kick-off.

Thousands have headed Down Under to watch the Aussies bid to retain their trophy. The Kangaroos are hot favourites to win after their 18-4 victory over England in their Group A contest earlier in the tournament. But the stakes are high, with England fans confident their team will take it to the wire, and Shooters doesn’t want its rugby regulars to miss a minute of the action.

The bar is opening early and it’s expecting a huge crowd of fans to create an incredible atmosphere. Isaac Mayne, head of marketing and promotions for Bierkeller Entertainment Complex, says it promises to be a memorable 80 minutes.

He said:

“Australia are obviously going into the game as favourites, but England’s 20-18 semi final win over Tonga was one of the most dramatic matches anyone can remember so it’s really set up for a thriller.

“Shooters has the biggest non-cinema screen in the city so our customers will get a great view and it makes a real difference watching such a massive game like this in a crowd of supporters rather than just at home. If England manage to win and take the trophy from Australia, it’ll be unbelievable in here.”
