Russell Brand And UK Artist Lincoln Townley Collaborate Again For Abstinence-Based Recovery Charity
| 23rd January 2015
In December 2014, Russell Brand commissioned a portrait by UK artist Lincoln Townley to raise funds for the Abstinence-Based Recovery Trust. The collaboration was a huge success and raised $20,000 in New York. This led Russell to commission a second portrait, which will be auctioned in February on the international online auction artnet.com
Russell Brand commented: “Lincoln’s work has an edge and an honesty that I love. We’re both patrons of the ABR Trust and this is part of a long-term collaboration to raise funds for a charity that gives hope to people with a dependency on alcohol or drugs.”
Lincoln said: “I was delighted with the money we raised with the first portrait and I’m hoping this will do the same. Every day is a battle for my sobriety so to work with Russell on behalf the ABR Trust is very special for me.”
Russell and Lincoln have signed the portrait on the back.
