Spring brings a brand new music programme for Manchester

World famous artists from the UK and South Asia will be descending on locations around the city this Spring.
This is part of a brand new extensive music programme, from New North and South, in a bid to celebrate the shared heritage of the UK and South Asia.
It will consist of unique and engaging :workshops, concerts, participatory arts and music experiences.
It’s produced by a network of 11 arts organisations from the North of England and South Asia.
The programme is going to highlight the work of artists from: the UK, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The first event took place on January 20th 2018 ,with a performance from South Indian flautist Vijay Venkat, and an exclusive live soundtrack set of cult film ‘La Haine’, from the Asian Dub Foundation.
The network is supported by the National Lottery, through the
Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence programme.
The events are affordable and suitable for all age groups.
