Syd Arthur announce new string of summer tour dates with The Shins and Morgan Delt

The Shins have invited Syd Arthur to join them on the road for a run of shows this summer.

The band, whom formed out of the forest party rave scene in their home county, will also be pairing up with Morgan Delt, an alternative indie musician, to co-headline certain slots, including a Manchester date.

The announcements followed the release of their recent single, No Peace, which features a funky remix from the Mod-father himself, Paul Weller, with Noel Gallagher on guitar.

Syd Arthur and Morgan Delt are no strangers. At the beginning of the year, Morgan remixed No Peace, and it looks as though they’ve kept in touch.

For the past 18 months, Syd Arthur have not slowed down. The Canterbury band have played huge arena shows in the US, and have toured with fellow progressive-experimentalists White Denim.

Previous years have seen them support the likes of The Strokes and they’ve also opened once for Jake Bugg in the States.

But it was October that saw the release of their most successful album to date, Apricity.

It’s an experimental, psychedelic masterpiece that is complete with swirling guitars, repetitive drum beats and moody vocals that resemble melancholic groove. It is this piece of art which has secured their place in the music scene, and since then has seen them go on to greater heights.

Make sure you catch the boys when they head off on tour later this month. They will be playing London, Paris and Amsterdam with The Shins, and will be taking on an abundance of dates with Morgan Delt around the UK.
