Justin Moorhouse: People and Feelings, Sunday 3 July, at the King’s Arms, Salford,is a preview of his Edinburgh Fringe show.

He may be a little slimmer but still as “belly laugh funny” (Manchester Evening News). Justin appeared in Coronation Street as Dean Upton, landlord of the Rovers Returns’ rival pub The Flying Horse.

He’s also appeared in Phoenix Nights with Peter Kay and the Ken Loach film Looking for Eric with Manchester United legend Eric Cantona.

Proceeds from this Edinburgh Preview show go to Wood Street Mission,  who  help alleviate the effects of poverty on children in Manchester and Salford.

The Guardian said about last year’s show “the amount of first-rate comic craft that goes into his deceptively simple routines is worthy of admiration” he’s had a think about people, and feelings.

September in The Rain, written by award-winning playwright John Godber, is a nostalgic and heart-warming observational comedy, and is coming to The Dancehouse< Manchester, for one night only on Thursday 14 July, as part of Greater Manchester Fringe.

Steve Jackson, who played Janice Battersby’s lodger and bin man lover Trevor in Coronation Street, stars alongside northern actress Sarah Burrill. The play is directed by Andy Pope and produced by ‘Little Diamond Theatre Company’.

After the success of their debut performance on the main stage at Oldham Coliseum in January, the company are delighted to present a true Northern love story.

Rusted Dust Theatre’s critically acclaimed spy thriller, The Communist Threat, comes to The King’s Arms, Salford, 13-16 July 2016, as part of the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival, written and performed by Kieran O’Rourke and David Holmes.

Kieran’s playwriting includes The Lift (2011) for Edinburgh Fringe and Camden Etcetera. He was nominated in the Best Actor Category in the Off West End Awards for Three of Hearts. David’s work as an actor includes national tours with The Young Shakespeare Company, Theatre Set-Up and All the Pigs.

Life By The Throat, a whole man’s life from birth to death – written and performed by a woman. James Keogh is a force to reckon with.

Born into poverty and madness, he survives on his wits. But a crash is sure to come. Former Coronation Street actor turned award-winning writer-performer Eve Steele celebrates the men she’s known, loved and wanted to punch in the face. Saturday 30 July, 7.30pm, £6 (£5 concessions). King’s Arms Theatre, 11 Bloom Street, Salford, M3 6AN

‘The Brink’ was first performed to an invited audience of healthcare professionals during ‘Mental Health Awareness Month’ in May 2016, where it received a standing ovation. Based on first-hand experience of past-natal illness, this is a powerful and moving one- woman show which explores the journey of first-time mum, Holly, as she looks forward to motherhood but finds herself in the depths of severe postnatal illness.

Written by Helen Jeffery, directed by Margaret Connell and starring actress Leanne Martin (Broken Biscuits, More Scouse Saddam). Music in the play has been written and recorded by Daniel Taylor (Blood Brothers, Through a Glass Onion, Down the Dock Road). Saturday 23 July, 8pm, £8.50 (£6.50 concessions). King’s Arms Theatre, 11 Bloom Street, Salford, M3 6AN
