Some of us VIVA ladies went along to support the girls this past Monday as they took part in an exhibition game and press conference, held at AJ Bell Stadium, Salford, home to Manchester FC, Sale Sharks and Salford Reds. The league pride themselves on being role models for the younger generation; staying strong and fit, not soft and skinny, with a real passion for football. They train properly and are extremely ambitious, dedicated women who play good football.LFL UK believe that the beautiful game needs to face up to the ugly inequality of the huge gender wage gap in football. Women train as hard as men, women are as dedicated to the beautiful game as men and therefore women should enjoy the same rewards. LFL UK plan to bring about a football revolution in the United Kingdom, by controversially playing the game in lingerie. By doing this they hope to increase public interest in women’s football so that women’s teams can play to packed stadiums, just like the elite male football teams. It was lovely to see such a dedicated team of ladies, lead by their founder Gemma Hughes, working together to bring about change in an area that is often overlooked. The team is comprised of ladies of all abilities, who are dedicated to the sport and passionate about change. So if any females out there are interested in joining these lovely ladies in their fight, find out more below and maybe we’ll see you playing in the future! Also look out for LFL UK Christmas Special exhibition match…coming soon.
