BACK ON THE COBBLES: Despite a break of seven years from the cobbles, it hasn’t taken long to feel like I’m back at home on the Street. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous before starting back but it’s really odd how everything still feels the same. Especially when we’re doing Platt scenes and I’m glad it feels like the Platts are back. There’s always been unfinished business between Sarah and David but I’m happy to say that our real-life dynamic is nowhere near as dramatic as on screen. Jack Shepherd, who plays my on-screen brother David, is just so witty and he’s always got such funny stories to tell. Although I honestly spend most of my time laughing at him, he’s so professional and, as an actor, he’s so good to watch. I don’t think he gets enough credit for the fact he started there when he was about eleven and since then he’s grown so much and learnt fast on the job.

KEEPING IN TOUCH: Since leaving the street back in 2007, I’ve been pretty busy because I now have both a little girl and a baby boy. I’m so happy about that! I managed to keep in touch with some of the girls from work too, such as Helen Worth, the lady who plays my on-screen mum, Gail and Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria. Actually, Samia’s just announced she’s also expecting a baby and, I have to say, I’m absolutely over the moon for her. Another little Corrie baby! Paula Lane, the lady who plays Kylie, has just come back from having a baby. There’s Jennie McAlpine, she’ll be coming back soon and, of course, Cath Tyldsley has just had a baby boy. We should have a crèche there’s so many of us!

GAIL’S HUSBANDS: Poor Gail may have been up the aisle a few times but I think Sarah’s favourite of the husbands will forever be Martin because he was always there for her. For me, I think my favourite had to be Richard Hillman. His character was so strong and, of course, that famous canal scene will go down in Corrie history.

LIKE MOTHER LIKE DAUGHTER: It’s hard to believe that things with Bethany’s part could have been different but, to be honest, I think everything has worked out perfectly. It’s been brilliant working with Lucy (Fallon) and I hope there are going to be more storylines with us working together as mother and daughter. It’s so funny because people are always saying how much we look like each other but, on screen, I definitely feel like the pair are going to clash. They’re too similar – she’s definitely inherited some of Sarah’s sass! I quite like how outspoken Sarah is sometimes because I’m not at all. She’s much braver than me and I respect her for that.
