What’s On This Easter School Holidays – VIVA Kids

SCHOOL holidays are here again! And if you are looking for family fun things to do in and around Manchester, you have come to the right place.
VIVA kids have put together a list of events and activities happening this April, there is plenty to choose from and something for everyone, from racing ducks, Easter themed fun, giant inflatables to meeting your favourite TV characters, check out this post to find out more!

1) Cadbury Egg Hunts The National Trust have teamed with Cadbury again this April to offer you a fantastic family day out.  You can join in the fun which will have you running through muddy woodlands, around mystical lakes and along nature trails on a Cadbury Egg Hunt.

There are over 250 hunts to choose from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, guaranteeing a fun-filled Easter for everyone.

Both Dunham Massey and Quarry Bank are hosting the spectacular chocolate events which cost £2 per child to take part, plus usual admission fees.

2) Manchester Duck Race Join in the city’s favourite family day out on the banks of the River Irwell on Good Friday for the 8th annual Manchester Duck Race. The Manchester Duck Race sees thousands of rubber ducks race down the river – it costs £1 to buy a duck and enter it into the race – with all proceeds going to local children’s charity Brainwave. The event is Free to attend, and starts at 11am, the first race is at 2pm with surprise celebrity guests announcing the winners. The duck race celebrations will be at the River Irwell and Spinningfields  with family activities, fairground rides, a petting farm and much more.

3) Wacky World Wacky World is back again for Easter Half term! And we couldn’t be any more excited! Get set to Slip, Slide, Bounce & Squeeze your way through Wacky Worlds giant Inflatable Activity arena. And take part in the Funtaztic game show or for the mums, you sit back and relax while your children enjoy the high energy, fun-filled inflatables & activities. Wacky World is not around forever and will only be in Manchester from  Sunday, 9 April till Tuesday ,11 April at the Old Granada Studios Stage 1, Quay St, Manchester M3 3JE.

4) Odeon Cinema There are plenty of films to choose from this half-term at Manchester’s Odeon Cinemas.
You can join Peppa Pig in an exciting new preschool cinema experience, with plenty of snorts, giggles and jumping up and down in muddy puddles! Leading with Peppa Visits London, the first of the never-before-seen episodes, Peppa and her friends hop on board a double-decker red bus as the Queen takes them on an unforgettable tour of iconic London landmarks including Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Trafalgar Square.

Also, showing from April 7 is Boss Baby which sees Alec Baldwin brings his voice and business acumen to the role of ‘The Boss Baby’, a hilarious animated comedy from the director of ‘Madagascar’.

5) intu Trafford Centre This Easter, you can join your favourite Nick Jr. All-Stars as they take over the Trafford Centre Kids’ Club for the holidays.

Perfect your ninja moves with the Half Shell Heroes in a pizza making workshop, or join the fun and build your own Blaze and the Monster Machines and then make all your wishes come true with a photo on Shimmer and Shine’s flying carpet. All events are all free and do not require booking (with the exception of the PAW Patrol meet and greet)

6) The Chill Factore If you’re looking for a family fun day out, and you want to learn something new with your friends or as a family, or maybe you just want to have fun on the snow or slopes – there is something for everyone at The Chill Factore during this Easter half-term. From Ski and Snowboard Lessons or Tasters sessions, to the Kids Camp’s which provides full days of fun and learning for the kids and is a great and energetic alternative to your usual school holiday childcare provision. There is also a kids ‘go half price offer’ with one full paying adult so its definitely worth checking out!

7) The Crystal Maze If you have teens to entertain, then the 90s-ultimate team challenge the crystal maze could be just what you are looking for. Friends can get together and face challenges testing skill, mental and physical ability across the four adventure time zones: Aztec, Industrial, Futuristic and Medieval. For each challenge completed your team will earn a Crystal. The more Crystals you earn, the more time you’ll get in the final challenge – The Crystal Dome!
