VIVA’s Cool Experience at Bierkeller’s Coors Light Ice Bar

The VIVA girls had the privilege of enjoying the unique experience of Coors Light Ice Bar at Bierkeller Entertainment Complex in Manchester’s Printworks last night. We tingled with anticipation as we were greeted with a choice of vividly coloured cocktails,which we nursed leisurely while waiting to be led into the stylish Ice Bar.
Friendly staff chatted to guests with warmth and ease, and were happy to show us around the popular sports bar before leading us all to collect our thick, cosy poncho style coats. Donning our silver thermal capes, all guests had the pleasure of being given the paparazzi treatment as photographers took snaps of excited groups posing against the Coors Light backdrop.
Inside, it was clear that designers at Coors Light and Bierkeller clearly have an expert eye for aesthetics, with the ice bar boasting an artistically sculpted ice sofa littered with fluffy cushions and a statuesque ice sculpture of a bear that towered above the chic bar. With the majestic looking sculpture bear capturing the attention of guests as they filtered in to the bar and humous beer-related quotes etched into the walls, Coors Light and Bierkeller definitely succeed in creating a trendy vibe and memorable atmosphere.
With temperatures at a chilly -3, we were thankful for the snug coats as we savoured an ice a glass of smooth and refreshing Coors Light beer that we could get in exchange for a token we had been provided with earlier.
Adding to the fun and introducing a bit of cheeky competition was a game of miniature curling, with the chance of winning a free shot of Jagar if you managed to get it in the target. Unfortunately our aim was a little off but it was still entertaining to watch.
Sean Cullen, General Manager at Bierkeller said of the novelty experience: “With there not being much sport in summer and this being a year between The Olympics and World Cup, we approached Coors as we thought the Ice Bar would be something different for the summer.
It’s an opportunity to experience a strange thing at a cheap price. Its something interesting for shoppers to do at the weekend but we also have a few corporate parties booked in over the next few weeks.”
After the success of the Coors Light pop-up Ice Bar in Spinningfields in March, the Ice Bar in Bierkeller will be available Fridays 5pm-12am, Saturdays 12pm – 12am and Sundays 12pm – 12am upon booking. From just £5 per person guests can enjoy a 30 minute stint in the ice bar, which includes, miniature curling, ice sculptures, a photo area, shot luges, a private bottle bar, a bottle of coors Light and a spirit & mixer or glass of House Wine.
The Coors Light Ice Bar will only be there for the next 12 weeks and we at VIVA, definitely think you would be crazy to miss out on this special edition to Manchester’s vibrant night life.
