VIVA’s Top International European Festivals for 2018!

It’s time to start planning your year ahead and enjoy 2018 as much as possible. Festivals have begun announcing acts and dates for this year and if you get there early, you might just get some early bird tickets.
How about a change this year? Instead of going to the same festivals that everyone goes to each year in the UK, go abroad and enjoy some of these fabulous festivals in Europe. Give yourself the chance to see something different and get cultural.
VIVA bring you our top 10 must see festivals, in Europe this year.

Spring Break (Amsterdam, The Netherlands):

Date: 8th April – 10th April
Venue: Melkweg, Air, Escape and Club NYX. All located in the capital city, Amsterdam.
Acts: Spring Break in Amsterdam have just announced their 3rd wave of acts. Some big DJs and artists are headlining, like Chase & Status, Wiley and Big Narstie who has just recently been announced in the 3rd wave.
Cost: Spring break are offering bundle deals through their website for the festivals, coach to and from Amsterdam and hotels/hostels. For just £50, you can secure your place on the trip. Hurry as tickets are low!
Weather: During the month April, temperatures will be around 12 degrees, which is a big improvement on March time.

Hideout (Novalja, Croatia):

Date: 25th – 29th June
Acts: You can expect to see appearances from Chase & Status, Andy C, AJ Tracey and Bicep at this year’s Hideout.
Location: Located on Zrce beach, over the 5 days, you can enjoy your festival in the sun on a beach, with boat parties out in the sea also being included.
Cost: From £149, you can find package deals which will include not only the festivals, but boat parties and VIP areas.
Weather: During the month of June, this festival can be expected to be showing sun and clear skies. Whack those shorts on because this is going to be a hot one!

Exit (Novi Sad, Serbia):

Date: 12th – 15th July
Acts: For this rock and Indie festival, headliners include Adam Beyer, Slaves, Ziggy Marley and more.
Venue: Petrovaradin Fortress. An 18th century fortress overlooking the Danube river.
Cost: From just £89, you can find package deals which include accommodation too.
Weather: The hottest month for Serbia with average temperatures of 21 degrees.

Benicassim (Spain):

Date: 19th – 22nd July
Acts: So far, The Killers have been announced as Benicassim’s first headliner.
Venue: Las Palmas stage (main stage), Visa stage, FIB club and South Beach Dance stage.
Location: A beach resort, on the Spanish coast between Valencia and Barcelona.
Cost: Early bird tickets are on sale from £125. This also includes camping.
Weather: July is their hottest month of the yea, with temperatures averaging from 30 degrees during the day.
Accommodation: camping is allowed and is often included in the price of the ticket. Hotels and hostels around the area are available for those who are not too keen on camping.

Ostend Beach (Oostende, Belgium):

Date: 7th – 8th July
Acts: Green Velvet, is the only one to be announced to be headlining the festival.
Venue: Located on Ostend Beach on the coast of Belgium.
Cost: From just £57, you can get packages which includes access for the festival and also camping on the beach!
Weather: July is one of the hottest months of the year for Belgium with temperatures averaging from 19 degrees.
Accommodation: Camping is allowed when paid for with the ticket. Hotels and hostels are available nearby.

Caprices (Crans-Montana, Switzerland):

Acts: Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Vath, Ben Klock, Archie Hamilton and more!
Location: On the slopes of a ski resort, near the top of a mountain.
Venue: MDRNTY, an eye warming stunning music venue and The Moon venue.
Cost: From £89.95 there are package deals which allow into both venues.
Weather: During April, Switzerland, will be covered in snow and will have cold conditions, so wrap up warm!
Accommodation: Hotel recommended, all within close range to the festival.

Southern Soul (Ulcinj, Montenegro):

Date: June 28th – July 1st
Acts: Marcellus Pittman, DJ Spen, Tama Sumo and more!
Location: Velika Plaza beach.
Venue: The Dolcinium Kite club.
Cost: From £99, package deals are included to attend the festival and have accommodation.
Weather: An average of 25 degrees during the day during June, which means tans for everyone!
Accommodation: Hotels and hostels available off sight which allows you to take a break from the partying and sun.

Kappa Futur (Turin, Italy):

Date: 7th – 8th July
Acts: 2018 line-up to be announced the 29th January!
Venue: Parka Dora – warehouses surrounded by lush green grass and fields.
Cost: From £44, weekend tickets are available.
Weather: For Turin, July is the hottest month of the year. Average temperatures are at 21 degrees, with sunshine daily for at least 10 hours.
Accommodation: Hotels and hostels recommended within close distance to the festival, in Turin.

Electric Love (Plainfeld, Austria):

Acts: Rudimental, Vini Vici, Brennan Heart, and more to be announced
Venue: Salzburg Ring, in Salzkammergut lake district.
Cost: tickets to be released still.
Weather: Temperatures average from 23 degrees during July.
Accommodation: Hotels and hostels are in Salzburg not far from the festival.

Airbeat-One (Neustadt-Glewe, Germany):

Date:11th- 15th July
Acts: Steve Aoki, Tiesto, Hardwell and more to be announced!
Location: On an airfield, which will feature 5 stages with over 150 performances.
Cost: From £107, they include packages allowing you to have access to all areas for the full 5 days.
Weather: July is a great time for Germany to be outdoors with temperatures averaging from 18 degrees.
Accommodation: There is camping and glamping access, which can be included in package deals. Hotels and hostels are available and within the area.
