Lingerie Football League has been inspired by the history of women’s football during World War One.

During the war, women’s football teams played to crowds of over 50,000 fans and raised money for war veterans until the football league banned women’s football at the end of the 1914/1915 season. To celebrate women’s courage and to raise money for today’s war veterans, we’re holding a centennial women’s football tournament at St Georges Park, the FA’s £105 million national football centre in Burton-on-Trent, DE13 9PD, on Saturday 30th January from 6pm until 9pm. Players from Lingerie Football League UK will take on university teams in an exhibition of women’s football.

The match is the second of a series of exhibition matches, featuring a half-time lingerie catwalk show, taking place across the UK, between December 2015 and March 2016. We hope the bright, young university population will support our drive for equal pay for women footballers. We anticipate that university students will form Lingerie Football League UK teams to play in our inaugural season. We will form a “premier league” of eight teams to play in lingerie during the summer season, April to September 2016.

Please join us at the exhibition match or watch the tournament live on our website.
