Up close and personal. The Hope Mill Theatre is the perfect setting for an intimate show like Yank. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting when I agreed to review the show, but I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere in the cosy theatre space is immediately welcoming. Being the eager beaver that I am, I turned up almost an hour too early but the show began in no time. The staff were friendly and the stage presence ran all the way into the foyer before the show had even started.

Now to the show, where do I start? Red lights, nudity, tears!

Without giving too much away let’s just say this show is a tear jerker with raw emotion. Genuine moments of hurt felt by both the cast and audience, comedy in the right moments and a heart-warming message about homosexuality in world war 2. Aria Entertainment and Manchester’s award winning Hope Mill Theatre produced a really valuable piece that educates and entertains viewers.

Tickets available at http://hopemilltheatre.co.uk/

The show is running for 5 weeks from the 11th of March until the 8th of April 2017.
