Our 2018 world gin day round up!

Paige Tucker | 9th June 2018

The 9th of June marks world gin day 2018 and we could not be more excited. I mean what is better than a whole day dedicated to our favorite drink, gin! So to help you have the best world gin day ever, we have rounded up our favourite gins of this year.

Harris Gin

Harris gin is truly one of the most refreshing gins you will ever taste. It embraces the fresh sea breeze that we all dream about having in summer and perfectly contains it in a bottle. Luckily for us it doesn’t actually taste like the sea, but it does a great job of helping you reminisce sun bathing on holiday. It is definitely a drink to enjoy and savor, rather than something to quickly down, so if you are looking for a relaxing, refreshing and reminiscent evening on world gin day 2018, then look no further than Harris gin!

RRP: £37

Roku Gin

Roku gin is certainly a gin that will whisk you away to somewhere else. It’s not just the fact that it has 6 key botanical flavours in it, but that each flavour settles on your taste buds at different times. It is almost as if the gin is taking you on a journey through Japan itself. So if you are ready for a gin journey then get your hands on this exquisite gin through The Whiskey Exchange website.

RRP: £29.99

Conker

Conker gin is a brilliant classic gin that is super flexible, meaning it can be added into any mixer. Whilst it is a dry gin, it tastes super smooth and gives you that lovely warm feeling in your chest, whilst not feeling over powerful or bitter. I feel like Conker is a staple gin for any collection, it’s the type of gin you drink casually and regularly.

RRP: £35.75

Two Birds

One of the best gins I have ever tasted for sure. I’m also a sucker for good packaging and this gin comes in a nice tube casing with a hessian bag wrapped around it, which I think makes it look expensive and gets you really excited to try what’s inside. Taste wise the London dry gin has the amazing original gin taste and blends beautifully with any mixer. The Old Tom gin has a hint of sweetness to it, perfect for making fruity cocktails or for enjoying with a flavoured tonic water. Finally their cocktail gin bottle is packed with flavour, juniper being the strongest flavour. This goes really well with a plain tonic or lemonade anything that won’t over power its amazing taste!

Whitley Gin

The people at Whitley gin clearly have their gin game on point. They have an amazing range of flavours and from the few that I have tried it is clear that they know exactly what people like in their gin. The blood orange gin is full of flavour and zing, the raspberry gin is super refreshing and almost feels healthy to drink, The Quince gin I was nervous to try but it actually tasted quite nice and was a very subtle tangy taste and finally the dry gin was just a really smooth and crisp tasting gin, the type that everyone loves! Plus it’s only £21 at Tesco stores now!

RRP: £26

IlGusto Gins

Now ilGusto are the place to go when wanting a gin with a twist. If you are into cocktail making or simply want a delicious tasting drink without the effort of adding a million ingredients then get your hands on this ilGusto mini gin set. It has every flavour you could possibly want and they taste absolutely amazing! The flavours are:

Pink Gin, Blue Gin, Elderflower Gin, Gin Lime Basil, Sloe Gin, Rhubarb Gin, Raspberry & Rosemary
Gin and finally Blackcurrant Gin.

RRP: £29

Aber Falls

If you are fancying something with a little home comfort and a bit of sweet and savory then look no further than this Aber falls rhubarb and ginger gin. It is definitely a “wow” factor gin as the taste is just utterly amazing! Plus if you are feeling a little stuffed up from that pesky hayfever then the added ginger might do wonders for you…at least that’s my excuse for drinking it all the time!

RRP: £24.69

Langley’s No.8

Langley gin is definitely the gin for those of you who aren’t a fan of anything sweet. To some people it is even classed as a “men’s gin” but I think it works for everyone. It is quite a strong gin with a powerful flavour but it only really hits you after the first sip. Then suddenly you can taste that cracked black pepper and slight spice note come through. So if you like your gin to have a good kick to it then this is the best gin for you!

RRP: £30.95

Boe Gin

Now although this is called violet gin, it doesn’t taste like Parma Violet’s, which is actually a huge sigh of relief for those who hate the taste of Parma Violet (Personally I love it). However, it does have that sweet like taste to it and it makes for an amazing cocktail for both beginners and for the advance mixologists out there. I also think this would be a great starter gin for someone who has either never tried gin before or isn’t the biggest gin fan. So why not sway a friend or family member into loving gin this world gin day and get them a bottle of Boe gin!
