A Stellar Launch from Cassie Lomas- Make Up Artist to the Stars

Rebekah Spratt | 1st May 2015

With over 20 years of experience in the make up industry, Cassie Lomas’ love affair with beauty has been a long one. Make Up Artist to the stars, Cassie has painted famous faces from all over the world; from Lady Gaga to Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding to Iggy Azalea… the list goes on and on.

Despite the demands from across the globe, Cassie’s true passion lies with her Make Up Academy in Manchester City Centre. Although one of her best career highlights includes working as the Make Up Designer for several London Fashion Week shows, Cassie maintains that being able to share this success with her graduate CLMA team was what made this memory so special.

To this day, Cassie remains immensely popular as a freelance Make Up Artist, but as well as being the Brand Ambassador for B Make Up, (the own brand of Superdrug), she also runs the CLMA and her MUA agency, Creatives.

Pairing up with her best friend, ex-model/singer and TV presenter Sophie McDonnell, the two combine their expertise to bring together a school of artists, skilled in make up, hair and styling. The academy also takes special bookings in body painting, tanning and nail art.

With the aim of building an environment that mirrors the future, the studio at Cassie Lomas Make Up Academy is designed to give students the freedom to grow as artists in a professional setting. With an extensive make up kit available for all students, and a premium photographic studio on site, CLMA sets the foundation for future success.

Cassie says: “I started with my Make Up Academy 5 years ago, so it’s been a natural progression to start an agency which offers opportunity to amazing hair and makeup freelancers. For me, the whole process of starting up a school and building the academy gives me so much pleasure, especially when I see how the girls grow and succeed. That is my main motivation. Creatives officially launched last October, so we’ve been going for the last 6 months, but we really wanted to wait until we’d built up all of our clients until we held the launch, so we could invite everyone along. It’s time to celebrate with a party!”

And celebrate we did. With VIVA Ems playing soulful house on the decks, there was musical magic in the air with  the sweet sound of the sax from Tom Da Lips, plus drinks from the amazing mixologists that are The Liquor Store, guests included Charlotte Crosby, Coleen Rooney and Charley Webb- this star studded launch was a sensational triumph.
