Budding starlet Cressida Bonas currently stars as Laura in the world premiere of ‘An Evening with Lucian Freud’, a new play now showing at the Leicester Square Theatre until 6th June.Cres

Laura-Jane Foley’s ‘An Evening with Lucian Freud’ is a new one-woman play with video cameos from; Maureen Lipman, Russell Grant, Alastair Stewart, Shana Swash, Laura-Jane Foley and Benjamin Ramm. The play leads the audience inside the world-renowned deceased painter Lucian Freud’s studio, laying bare the complex and slightly sinister character of one of the 20th Century’s greatest artists.

Directed by Ella Marchment the play explores themes of memory, permanence and creativity, and ultimately reflects on how artists, and writers, must use people to make their art. Based on a real life encounter, this personal, anecdotal tale is blended with historical art and biographical insights and features a range of fictionalised sitters who have been on the receiving end of Freud’s unflinching gaze. As Laura, Cressida shows a sophisticated poise and is not to be missed. Performances are Tuesday to Saturday at 7.00pm with a Saturday matinee at 3.00pm. Book your tickets here.
