Hailing from the picturesque French Alps, VIDO emerges as a rising luminary in the French DJ scene.
The 21-year-old techno prodigy seized the spotlight with a riveting debut at Tomorrowland on the Cage stage, unleashing a sonic whirlwind of electrifying beats.
In an exclusive tête-à-tête with E.M.A, VIDO shares insights into his eagerly anticipated debut at Tomorrowland Winter…
E.M.A: As a local from the French Alps, you must be thrilled to grace the Tomorrowland Winter lineup for the first time?
VIDO: Absolutely! This is like home to me I live three hours away from here. I’m an expert skier and now a producer and DJ of hard techno. I’m super excited to be playing at Tomorrowland Winter it’s crazy.
E.M.A: How do you say “God is a DJ” in French?
VIDO: “Dieu est un DJ.”
E.M.A: Tonight, you’ll be commanding the Cage stage. What can revellers anticipate from your set?
VIDO: I’m going to try to adapt myself a bit to the Tomorrowland style. There’s going to be more vocals but always hard kicks, step by step it’s going to get harder with some atmosphere melodic sounds along the way.
E.M.A: How do you prep for a monumental gig like this?
VIDO: My preparation involves training at home and practising some new DJ tricks but we will see tonight. I think it’s going to be super fun, I have some super nice tracks to play plus secret transitions and some unrealised tracks to drop too.
E.M.A: Are there any current techno tracks you’re particularly fond of dropping?
VIDO: “No Gimmick” by DJ Mad Dog is a super nice track.
E.M.A: With such an illustrious line up at Tomorrowland Winter, if you could be any other DJ on the bill, who would it be and why?
VIDO: Probably KOLSCH, he’s a legend. He has his natural sound and vibes which he gets everybody focused on.
E.M.A: What’s the most captivating aspect of Tomorrowland Winter for you?
VIDO: It’s so nice that you can unite skiing and partying which already exists with apes-ski, but Tomorrowland has created a festival and made the party even bigger and better. It’s just so nice being up in the mountains with the amazing views and landscapes along with an incredible line up of music.
E.M.A: Any dream destinations around the globe where you’d love to perform next?
VIDO: I’ve heard amazing things about the Warehouse Project in Manchester UK. I would really like to get on the line up there soon.
