Beauty doctor leads global transgender project

A renowned Cheshire based cosmetic surgeon has been chosen to lead an international project about improving the care and treatment of transgender patients.

Doctor Jonquille Chantrey was head-hunted to lead the pioneering project for global pharmaceutical giants Allergan, which is expected to take her up to a year to complete.

The investigation is in support of the worldwide increase in the transgender movement, and the need to understand the psychology associated with transgender patients.

As part of her study Miss Chantrey, who is the medical director of leading beauty facility, ØNE aesthetic studiø in Alderley, will need to aesthetically treat, assess and collect data from transgender patients from all backgrounds.

Therefore she needs local transgender people, who have already completed GP and psychology assessments, to get in touch with her about participating in her project.

She has been a global ambassador for Allergan as one of their few ‘International Key Opinion Leaders’ for  10 years,  and is delighted to be facilitating a mission so close to her heart.

The study will be launched by Miss Chantrey in April at the prestigious A.M.W.C.* in Monte Carlo.

Miss Chantrey said: “I have treated transgender patients aesthetically for over 15 years. They are a group I feel are often not treated or supported in a fully considered and appropriate way. I want to lead the empowerment of this often at risk group by directly educating patient and doctors.

“Coming from Manchester I have always been involved and close to the L.G.B.T. community, and treated a lot of patients in this community.  Now that society is more accepting and supportive of those who want to transition, there are going to be more patients , across the world, seeking treatment.

“This is a very specific, niche area of aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery.

“Great care needs to be taken, because how you comprar cialis online and treat a man is very different to how you treat a woman to make them look more masculine or feminine, and also help them be their most attractive.  I want to help patients look and feel their most authentic selves.

“All the techniques are very different. Each patient is unique. So much needs to be taken into consideration such as the facial maths, facial proportions, the strategy and their treatment plan. One of my great passions is psychiatry and supporting patients not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.

“I’m very much looking forward to be launching this project to my international peers at the AMWC in Monte Carlo,  and then meeting with members of the transgender community from all over the North West.

“The results of my investigation will be published in 2020 and before then used globally through Allergan’s new teaching platforms, only accessed by the most advanced practitioners as it is such a skilled and cutting edge area of Aesthetic Medicine.”
