It’s long been on our list to do so VIVA was delighted to head to Bongo’s Bingo on what must be the wettest Halloween on record, and it didn’t disappoint.
This is the fun on steroids, the motherload of bingo and with more to come for the party season and beyond.
If VIVA’s experience of the Southern Comfort’s House Of Boo, is anything to go by, it’s a perfect way to party with a difference.
This was a one-off evening bringing the spirit of Halloween in New Orleans to the UK and it was everything you expect with parades, bead throwing and plenty of surprises along the way, all while playing Bingo and raving the night away!
You are given bingo cards as you enter the Albert Hall, a great cavernous venue with hordes of excited party goers getting into the spirit of the game while music blares to give a club vibe and the participants take to the tables and benches to dance.
The Bongo’s Bingo ringmaster keeps the high octane beat going with his helpers ramping up the crowds.
And the actual bingo is serious with booze bundles to be won as well as a cool grand in cash when we went there.
But if you haven’t got your numbers right, then be beware. You will be serenaded as a dickhead by the crowd! If you’re a proper winner, there’s a chance to celebrate on stage.
Bingo meets rave
It’s been going since 2015, since the launch when Johnny Bongo has the vision to fuse bingo with rave.
The Bongo’s Bingo co-founder told VIVA: “We’re looking at a pretty much sold-out festive season which is incredible and we all want to say a huge thanks for everyone’s support in 2022. After everything that’s happened it’s been so good just seeing people together again and having fun all across the UK, coming to our shows to let loose for some essential escapism. We are of course already looking ahead into next year and we’ve got lots of amazing stuff planned, it’s going to be class. First up we’ve got January and February and our 90s Tour which is not to be missed!”
VIVA loved our experience and can recommend it, it’s perfect for celebrations with mayhem, crowd karaoke and basically a rave.
