A26Shoppers at intu Trafford Centre on Saturday 22 August got to hear their favourite classics performed with passion and style by one of the premier bands from the British Army and raised £1,200 in the process.

The Band of The King’s Division has played to packed audiences across the globe including The Great Northern Brass Arts Festival and on Saturday, the Preston-based 32 piece band performed on The Orient Main Stage to help raise funds for ABF The Soldiers’ charity.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the Army’s National Charity, helping soldiers, veterans and families from affected by conflict. Last year, the charity spent more than £5million on individuals who needed help, and gave grants to 76 charities which delivered specialist support – touching the lives of around 70,000 people.

Throughout the day, shoppers got to see imagery on The Orient Big Screen depicting life in the British Army today.

Caroline Aikman, Marketing Manager for intu Trafford Centre, said: “It was great to have The Band of The King’s Division play The Orient Main Stage. It was great that £1,200 was raised for such a worthy charity as ABF The Soldiers’ Charity which do such extremely important work.”
