Last weekend an auction was held at Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica to raise funds for A Sense of Home, a charity whose aim is to raise funds for foster youth who have “aged-out” of the foster care system.

At the request of Max Kennedy, whose daughter Noah is actively involved with the charity, Lincoln Townley donated a painting titled Double Trouble from his LA collection.

Having just returned to the UK after his success at the BAFTA LA Britannia Awards whereby he painted the six Honorees, demand for Townley’s painting at the event was extraordinary and eventually raised a huge sum for A Sense of Home.

Max Kennedy commented: “I would like to thank Lincoln for donating a painting to our auction. His generosity has literally provided homes for some of the most vulnerable young people in our community and I can’t thank him enough. Demand for his work is high in the United States but even I was surprised when the bids just kept getting higher and his painting was the star turn of the evening – in the end we had to keep the blind bidding open for 3 more days!”

Vicki Kennedy added: “We all love Lincoln’s work and he’s welcome back anytime. He’s made a real difference to so many young lives.”

Lincoln Townely said: “To be asked by the Kennedy family to contribute to such a worthwhile cause was one of the greatest honours of my life. It is because of their kindness and openness that I have been able to make this contribution and I can’t thank them enough. I will continue to donate and promote this incredible charity whichever way I can.”
