CHESHIRE: Les Deux Pizza – the new kid on the block shaking up the Alderley Edge food scene

Set in the heart of Alderley Edge lies a new concept pizzeria and cocktail bar – Les Deux Pizza.

 

This restaurant and bar feature’s an open kitchen where diners can get that immersive food experience in Cheshire. The pizza dough is stretched, dressed and cooked right in front of your very eyes.

 

“We want people to come as they are, be it in a hoodie or a LBD. No matter what, there’s great music to dance to, amazing pizza to eat and even better cocktails to drink!” says Les Deux Pizza.

 

 

In my opinion, a casual and relaxed concept is well overdue in Alderley Edge. Let’s be honest, whilst getting glammed up and dressed to the nines is fun to do on occasion it is nice to be able to visit a restaurant (especially in Alderley) that doesn’t require hours of pruning and a glam squad to fit in. Plus, Les Deux is completely dog friendly so you can even enjoy your pizza with your pooch!

 

In terms of the food itself, Les Deux sources their meats from the finest British farms, where the animals are ethically reared and live their best life. In terms of the dough, it is naturally fermented for 48 hours, making it nice and light.

 

We began our food journey with the Devil Heart Burrata. This was infused with n’duja paste, served on a crispy pane carasau brushed with chimichurri and smoked red peppers. Firstly, let me say the Burrata was huge! Firm on the outside and gooey in the middle – just as it should be.

 

 

For the main event we went for the Pepperoni (classic) along with the Peking duck pizza which consisted of shredded aromatic duck, hoisin sauce, pickled spring onion, sweet ginger and cucumber strips. We were told this pizza was one of Les Deux’s best sellers.

 

We also tried the OH ELLOOOOOO which had Sticky beef, truffle oil, tomato, mozzarella, and parmesan along with a side of salt and rosemary fries and an aioli dip.

 

 

In all honesty we struggled to choose a favourite. Each of us preferred the pizza we had personally ordered. It was a stalemate of pizzery goodness.

 

The pizzas nearly had us beat, but we soldiered on and shared a dessert – the lemon meringue pie between us. Refreshingly light and gooey we finished our meal on a high.

 

VIVA Verdict: For a chilled and relaxed vibe with great food and cocktails (we recommend the Blackberry Margarita) Les Deux is the place for you!
