CHESHIRE: Treacle Town Candle Company launches vegan range of handcrafted soy candles

The handcrafted Soy candles are made by a family company based in Macclesfield, affectionately known by the locals as ‘Treacle Town’.

All the candles have been handcrafted, not just hand poured. All the labels are made on the premises, hand-cut and hand placed. Each candle has been designed to have just the right wick for the wax, colour and fragrance load, not too overpowering, no headaches, and no toxins.

With a range of fragrances from Musk & Sandlewood, Plum Rose & Patchouli to Amber Noir and Wild Fig & Cassis, each candle is bursting with wonderful scents.
We were lucky enough to try out all the different scents and we were pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Each and every scent is perfectly balanced and when lit, the smell engulfs the whole room – and it lasts!
The Musk & Sandlewood is the perfect living room scent, a calming balance of musk really does make a room feel warm and cosy.
The fresh scent of the Plum Rose and Patchouli is perfect for the bedroom. With the sweeter notes hitting your senses, you can drift off into a sea of tranquillity.
In true eco-warrior fashion, a discounted refill service is also available and there’s no need to even wash the jar or dish. Just return to their Macclesfield premises or to one of their stockists.
So why use Soy wax?
Soy wax is derived from the soy bean and is therefore 100% natural. It is a renewable, sustainable and excellent alternative to traditional paraffin wax. There is already little impact on our environment using this wax, but Treacle Town Candles go one step further and use only wax made in the UK.
Paraffin wax is derived from petroleum and non-sustainable source and gives off black soot when burned. That can potentially stain curtains, walls, and carpets inside the home and who wants to breath that in? As a vegetable-based wax, soy wax does not give off any harmful by-products that might cause damage, it does not aggravate asthma or other allergies.
So all in all, low carbon footprint, clean burning, no parabens, non-toxic and eco-friendly.
