Coronation Street Stars Help Legendary M.A.D Ltd Celebrate A Bumper Year

mad_xmas_celebs-6 copyManchester’s premier independent bar and restaurant group, M.A.D Ltd, celebrated their success in style with an extravagant party to thank staff for a bumper 2015 and were joined by a host of the city’s stars, including Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley, who took centre stage to belt out some show-stopping tunes and get the party started.

The company, who own and operate iconic bars and restaurants  throughout the city including, Hula, Walrus and The Fitzgerald, celebrated another successful year, which saw sales up 19% year on year, with the bash at the Hilton Hotel on Sunday (February 7).

The independent group based in the Northern Quarter,  is a favourite with celebrities from the cobbles as well as musicians and DJs from Manchester’s infamous music scene and the city’s footballers.

Mark Andrew, managing director at MAD said, “We had a great year in 2015, we launched Infamous Diner, refurbished Walrus and Tusk and had our best Christmas on record, so we wanted to go all out and thank our staff for their hard work with a huge party.”

Jonathan Hawkins, operations director added, “MAD has big plans for Manchester and beyond, we have three further sites in Manchester alone that we will be developing, so it’s another exciting year ahead.”

The party also included DJ sets from MAD residents, Gareth Brooks and VIVA Ems, (supported by May Ellie Crick playing live sax) which got the stars and staff dancing on tables.

While, Catherine, who debuted her singing skills in Monday’s episode of the long running soap when her character Eva Price sang an unforgettable rendition of ‘Hey Big Spender’,  partied with fellow cast members Bruno Langley who plays Todd Grimshaw and Katie McGlynn who plays Sinead Tinker, following her set after wowing the revellers.
