The Mirror Ball, The Lowry HotelCath and Shayne sing country classic duet

The Manchester glitterati were out in force on Friday (4 March 2016) at Manchester’s The Lowry Hotel for the sixth Mirror Ball organised by Andrew Trott-Barn to raise money for Forever Manchester.

Belle of the Ball was Catherine Tyldesley and her on screen beau Shayne Ward as they wowed the guests with their rendition of the Lady Antebellum country classic Need You Now.

Entertainment at the candy themed event included Mirror Ball favourites Salford’s answer to Dynamo – Dominic Anthony and X Factor songstress Carolynne Poole belted out the anthem Sex On Fire. Plus guests were treated to a surprise turn by 90’s TV pant swingers Trev and Simon who performed Ant & Dec’s Let’s Get Ready To Rumble.

Guests including Helen FlanaganJamie Lomas, Anthony Quinlan, Kirsty-Leigh Porter and Nikki Sanderson enjoyed gin and tonics made with Caorunn Gin and bespoke chocolate bars created by local chocolatiers Slattery. The bars, which were sold for £10 each, contained a raffle ticket which won one lucky guest a £1k Boodles voucher!

The event, in it’s sixth year, was created by Andrew Trott-Barn following his recovery from a brain tumour in 2009.  Andrew and his team have raised over £200k for the charity and this year Andrew was named Manchester Champion at the Made in Manchester awards this year in recognition of his massive contribution to Forever Manchester over the past five years.

Andrew Trott-Barn says; “Wow! We pulled off another amazing night.  As we’re in our sixth year and six years of marriage is candy we went all out with a Willy Wonka theme!  I’m so pleased that Cath came back to perform for us again and that she was able to get Shayne onboard too. They make a brilliant partnership.

“Every year we are blown away by how much we are able to raise for Forever Manchester – our running total right now is over £200k – so we know that this year won’t be any different.  Thank you so much to everyone who attends, takes part and helps to organise what is definitely the best night out of the year!”

Event sponsors included Caorunn Gin, Edge Street Events, Synk Events and Vital Publicity.
