Discover The Best Of The City’s Arts and Gastronomy With This Handy Map

Buy Art Fair, the North’s leading art fair, is taking place at the iconic halls of Manchester’s Old Granada Studios from the 24th-27th September. This year the organisers have produced a handy little map of the city, designed to aid to the discovery of Manchester’s best arts and gastronomy. Designed by Manchester artist David Gee, this artful ‘doodle’ map features Buy Art Fair’s top picks for dining and discovery at the city’s heart, as well as a few gems further afield.

David Gee's doodle map of Manchester is designed to help visitors create their very own culture trail.

Thom Hetherington, CEO of Buy Art Fair, says: “Buy Art Fair provides an unprecedented boost to Manchester’s art scene every autumn, but we want to encourage our visitors to also engage with the galleries and institutions that are open in the city year round.

As well as Buy Art Fair, we run a number of major restaurant events and regularly judge and review for national hospitality awards and food guides. Everyone I meet who is passionate about art is equally fanatical about food, so this seemed the perfect opportunity to pair our two specialisms into one beautifully illustrated guide to Manchester’s cultural hotspots.

Visitors can take their time to curate a personalised culture trail from the 26 art institutions, bars and restaurants featured on the map. Highlights include HOME, The Lowry, The John Rylands Library, Almost Famous Burgers, Australasia and Mughli Charcoal Pit.

Works from over 500 established and emerging artists will be on show at the Buy Art Fair this month. Live works and interactive artist studios will bring the fair to life for seasoned collectors and art-curious individuals looking to dip toes in to the world of art buying.
