Such a success at the box office. The Palace Theatre has the first touring instalment of Sister Act  – with X Factor graduate Alexandra Burke in the lead role.

Directed and choreographed by Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood, Sister Act is a cracking comedy based on the movie starring Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith.

WHAT?: Superhero workshops

WHEN?:  Until September 1st

WHERE?: Trafford Centre, On the link bridge near Topshop

HOW MUCH?: Free

The Trafford Centre is hosting free superhero fun with the chance to join Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman on a number of super missions. They are in need your help to rescue the shopping centre from the clutches of villains The Joker, The Penguin, The Riddler and more. You can meet the superheroes, take part in villain round-ups, even try a super hero costume on for size.

A series of different superhero workshops will be held  from 12pm to 5pm every Tuesday and Thursday.

Fairground rides. The fun includes a teacup ride, bouncy castles, trampolines and more as well as picnic areas, a children’s play area and the opportunity to explore the park’s aircraft. If you don’t fancy making a picnic then you can call in the coffee house or restaurant. You can enjoy all this while taking in breathtaking views of the runway with aircraft landing and taking off and get up close.

Dirty Dancing is one of those films that everyone has seen at least 10 times, but yet you could see it 10 more and still not get bored. It is know to have one of the best and most well know sound tracks of all time with some intense and dramatic moments. The film is based in 1963 in a summer holiday camp following Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman as she meets the man who will change her life.
