Following the fully sold out Hacienda Classical event in Castlefield that day, FAC 51 The Hacienda returns to Manchester’s Albert Hall Saturday 2nd July for a superb event that sees

Detroit techno innovator Derrick May with Manchester’s own A Guy Called Gerald, Justin Robertson and Jon Dasilva across a bill of acid house legends.

One of the early Detroit techno producers who came to define electronic dance music, Derrick May’s iconic reputation as an originator is unassailable.  Responsible for such seminal tracks such as “Nude Photo,” “Kaos” “It Is What It Is,” as Rhythim Is Rhythim on Transmat, it is of course his “Strings Of Life” that was inspirational to the acid house revolution and Derrick  is revered one of its most influential ever figures.

Joining Derrick is A Guy Called Gerald, similarly universally respected for his production skills and output from his early days of “Voodoo Ray” and “Pacific State” through to “Black Secret Technology” and  his “Live In Session” series. Now resident in Berlin, Gerald comes back to Manchester, welcomed  by The Hacienda which was instrumental in his early career.

Also returning are Justin Robertson and Jon Dasilva renewing their long association with the club, city and its music scene. From the counter of Eastern Bloc to running clubs such as Spice, Most Excellent and Sleuth and producing international hits as Lionrock, Justin’s eclectic and diverse tastes continue to mark him out as a finely crafted DJ and producer, continuing under his current Deadstock 33’s guise.

Again Jon Dasilva wrote the soundtrack for FAC 51’s acid house adventure and is considered hugely influential on the musical course the club took.  With a string of cutting edge remixes and productions spanned across labels including Get Physical, Rush Hour, Soma, Mute, Deconstruction and more, Jon’s expansive DJ sets demonstrate his wide musical tastes and expert ability to work these genres on the floor.

To accommodate those wishing to attend following on from the Castlefield event, a late entry of 1230am has been arranged.

Since opening in late 2013, The Albert Hall has established a reputation as one of Manchester’s best club and live music venues. A Grade II listed Wesleyan chapel hidden in Manchester City Centre, the grand chapel of the venue has been restored into a one of the most atmospheric music venues in the country surrounded by the original stained glass windows on its balcony tier.
