The Fertility Show is returning to Manchester this March, after the show received huge success in its’ first year.

Located at Manchester Central Convention Complex, on Windmill Street in the city centre on the 24-25th March, the show which is in association with FertilityNetworkUK expects to mirror the success of the London show in November, which welcomed almost 3,000 visitors.

Visitors to the show can expect a variety of fertility experts, clinics, organisations, an extensive seminar programme, help, guidance and advice throughout the two days, which are available to people of all walks of life and circumstance.

Speaking to Natasha Waterfield, Fertility Show Manager, she explained how successful the show was in its’ first year: “Last year saw the launch of The Fertility Show in Manchester, following on from the continued success of the Show in London, which celebrated its ninth year last November.

“Over 1,300 people came through the doors to listen to our varied world class seminar programme and to meet with clinics and leading experts.”

Fertility experts will be giving talks throughout the day

Across the two days’ topical sessions will be delivered by experts in the field, including Manchester Fertility Professor Allan Pacey, Medical Director of CREATE fertility Professor Geeta Nargund, Author Helen Davies, Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and many more.

A range of topics will be covered to suit a broad audience such as, secondary infertility, natural cycle and mild IVF, options for adoption, improving the odds of IVF working, what men need to know about fertility, dealing with and treating endometriosis, infertility management and the rule of three.

Greater Manchester Fertility Statistics

According to a project published by the international health information network SteadyHealth in October 2017, ‘IVF Treatment in the UK: What is the Best Fertility Clinic Near Me?‘, privately funded IVF can cost up to £5,000 per cycle, making it an important financial decision with the average wage of a Mancunian being £27,716.

The project allows the public access to government statistics, their own clinic reviews, as well as the clinics voice and patient’s opinions on their facilities and treatments.

Based on six fertility clinics in the Greater Manchester area, the reviews give an insight into and offer guidance for anyone struggling to find the right clinic which is suitable for them.

The infographic created by the organisation aims to highlight the services offered by each clinic, alongside statistics to show how many cycles of each type of IVF/ICSI were conducted between July 2014- June 2015.

With each of the clinics in Greater Manchester offering services which make them unique and popular for different reasons, the review gives a fair and factual opinion on each.

One of the clinics, The Hewitt Facility, which is the biggest of it’s kind in Europe conducted a record rating of 2030 fresh IVF/ICSI cycles and 1561 fresh embryo transfer stage cycles between 2014-2015 and is the biggest of its’ kind in Europe.

Another notable practice from the review is CARE Manchester, who are one of the most experienced providers in IVF across the UK, whose founder Simon Fishel was involved with the birth of the first IVF baby in 1978, as well as being supportive of the members of the LGBT community who are hoping to conceive.

The Aim of the Manchester Fertility Event

For anyone who is considering their fertility options, the Fertilty event in March aims to answer all the questions that the public might have, as well as offer them advice and guidance into their next steps.

Natasha explained: “In the UK, 1 in 6 couples struggle with fertility and the need for information and support is in high demand. By continuing with our Show in Manchester, we are providing a platform for those based in the North of England, who are looking to start or extend their family or who are seeking general support or advice. The Show will bring a wealth of support and expertise from local IVF clinics in Manchester, Leeds and other major cities based in the North, as well as locally based nutritionists, reflexologists and counsellors.”

She continued: “This year our Manchester Show is set to welcome a similar number of visitors, and will play host to over 50 exhibitors including doctors, clinics and nutritionists, all offering help, support and guidance as to where to go next on your fertility journey. The Show will also feature it’s renowned seminar programme, that continues to go from strength to strength, with 30 topical sessions across the 2 days delivered by experts in the field.”

Tickets are priced at £10 for each day or £16 for a weekend tickets. Individual seminars can be booked for an additional £3 per session.
